So I have decided to try out the 21 Day Fix. Here’s my intro pack. Shakes, chocolate and vanilla – I can be indecisive on what flavor I like day by day, shake cup, my containers, a refrigerated tote (which has already come in handy), the main workout dvr & additional plyo DVDs.
So I was excited to get my package in the mail. Who wouldn’t be! I’m on my way to super fitness in just 21 days. So I opened this shiny box of possibilities and dived in. So far I have found meal planning is both easy and difficult all in one. Eating clean isn’t that hard. It’s just balancing to get enough of fruit, purple, or protein, red.
I’m a veggie lover. It’s so much easier for me to eat those then fruit. So I had to branch out and go back to classics I hardly eat. I’m pointing to you apples! So my suggestion is take an hour or two and write down meals. For me I write down meals and work my snacks around that. We shall see if I keep that layout next week. Maybe I’ll work around my snacks? Not sure yet.
- Breakfast – whole wheat toast, peanut butter, chocolate Shakeology blended with ice= 1 yellow, 1 red, 1 tsp
- Lunch – Romaine, sunflower seeds, mixed veggies to fill a green (cucumbers, tomato, mushrooms), a red mixed half chicken/half hard boiled egg with 1 tsp evoo & black coffee = 2 green, 1 red, 1 tsp, 1 Orange
- Dinner – Ground Turkey Chili (turkey, tomato, onion, green pepper, kidney beans, cheddar cheese and cilantro) brown the turkey, blend the veggies, add chili spices (minus salt!) and kidney beans then simmer. I simmered while I did my workout. Top with blue container of cheese and cilantro = 1 red, 1 green, 1 blue, 1 yellow
- Snacks = grapes 2 purple
- Water = 12 cups
So I ended up being shy on my red container for this day. I think today is planned out a little better now. But I found out it’s pretty much what I normally eat just with a couple less carbs. Today I’m going to make one or two of the salad dressings to have on hand for the next few days.
Now working out. I did the whole body cardio today. My suggestion is to have water on hand and I used my 3 pound weights. It’s not bad. It’s weird to have a clock in the corner of the screen to countdown the time of each workout and the whole overall workout countdown. But it’s also a little nice to let you keep motivated.
I honestly think the worst part of day 1 is taking your picture and measurements. I felt I have let myself down by not staying on task in life. But they say it takes three weeks to breaks habit. Well let’s see if the 21 Day Fix will help me get to a better place! I’m thinking it will.
