Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars – Epic & Easy!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

I love chocolate and peanut butter. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are in my top 5 off all time favorite candies. Peanut butter m&m’s are pretty epic also. I had a horrible habit as a kid that I would get a 1 pound bag of m&m’s and I would sit and eat them all until the bag was gone. Hello Diabetes!! As an adult I can still hold my weight on eating candy but I’m a bit more responsible with my choices. Yeah right. I just buy a smaller bag and I don’t feel as bad eating it all.

So when I stumbled onto these little pieces of heaven from Pinterest I knew I had to try them. These dessert bars are so delicious and easy to make. Only 5 ingredients and you might even have them on hand. Also you can just refrigerate them and enjoy later.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter – melted
  • 1 cup graham cracker – crumbled
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup & 2 Tbs creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

I like to line my 9×9 glass pan with aluminum foil so it’s easier to get the bars out. To start mix the butter, 3/4c peanut butter, graham crackers, powdered sugar and press into the lined pan. Since I like less mess I wiped out the bowl and reused it to melt the chocolate chips and the 2 Tbs peanut butter. Pour on top of the graham cracker mix and put into the fridge to set. Takes about 3 hours to fully set. I cut my squares too large initially. I suggest cutting them into 1 inch wide pieces. They are delicious but can be a little rich.

So go forth and whip up a batch of these beauties. Everyone will think you have the best baking talents and will now expect you to bring these to every event. Consider yourself warned.
