Annnnnd it raining. I know, I live in Washington and we expect it. But its August and we are roofing our house so I’m not too pumped that we have rain, thunder and lightning going on. In fact this makes me want to stay inside and cook a stick to your ribs kind of dinner. I saw something like this on Pinterest and figured I would give it a whirl. But I changed it to what I have on hand and what our tastes are.
Slow Cooker Beef Tips
- 1.5 – 2 lbs Beef Tips or Stew Meat cut to bit size pieces
- 1 Tbs Flour
- 1 16oz can of Reduced Sodium Beef Broth
- 1 10.75oz can Cream Of Mushroom
- 1 .87oz Powdered Beef Gravy Mix
- 1 1oz Powdered Au Jus Gravy Mix
- 1 Small Onion – Diced
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Salt & Pepper
Brown the beef on the stove putting the flour and Salt/Pepper to taste. You don’t have to do this but I prefer my beef with a bit more flavor on it prior to baking in the slow cooker. While its browning I dice the onion and put all the rest of the ingredients into the slow cooker. As far as the Worcestershire sauce I tend to put 6 or so dashes. It all about taste and preference. Throw the beef in the slow cooker and let it roast for 8 hours on low.
Some folks like their gravy and meat on rice but I’m a potato chick all the way. I love mashed potatoes. And not the instant stuff, I like it from scratch with extra butter. So once the 8 hours are up throw this meat beast onto your favorite carb and enjoy.
Honestly it’s not much to look at and taking a pic to make it look appealing just wasn’t working for me. But the taste is great so please disregard the picture. I’ll probably need to get back onto Pinterest and hone in on some photo taking skills – Haha!
